HOW TO EXTERMINATE MICE AND RATS?
In villages, mice and rats are successfully caught by the time-tested tool of a cat, or better still, several cats. The problem is that not all cats have a predilection for hunting. Moreover, if there is enough food in the house, a house mouse is likely to be unpalatable to a cat.
Many people also think that rodents and other pests are repelled by ultrasound. Often, advertising texts claim that such a repellent system is an excellent means of repelling not only mice and rats, but also cockroaches, spiders, flies, mosquitoes, fleas and others.
However, numerous scientific studies have shown that ultrasonic repellent systems do not work – the possibility of using ultrasound to repel pests exists only in theory. We recommend the following basic measures to control mice and rats:
TRAPPING RATS
Rats are a particularly cunning animal and are rarely caught in traps. Mice are much more often trapped. We recommend that traps are only placed indoors where there are many children or pets. Use sticky mouse traps or traditional traps. Rats really like sunflower oil – soak the end of a piece of bread or a nut in it and stick it on the trap.
It is important to choose poison and trap sites that show signs of rat presence: faeces, greasy crawl marks, gnaw marks.
