HOW TO EXTERMINATE FLIES AT HOME?
Here are tips on how to control fruit flies, house flies and other flies in your home, or what preventive measures you can take to drastically reduce or eliminate their population.
- Use special lamps that can attract and kill flies. These are hung or placed in living rooms, offices and private gardens;
- Always keep the kitchen clean and do not leave food residues;
- Garbage cans must always be closed;
- Cover food – flies can transmit diseases by landing on any food source;
- Clean animal droppings regularly, as they are an excellent breeding ground;
- Provide fly screens and other mosquito nets;
- Compost must be separated and covered
EFFECTIVE MEASURES AGAINST FLIES
You can also make traps at home to kill, for example, the population of food flies:
Take a plastic bottle and place it upside down so that the edges overlap, add enough water to fill a fifth of the bottle, then add apple cider vinegar – this attracts flies. Add a tablespoon of soap or floor/indoor cleaner to the mixture and stir. You can make traps that you set out in the places where you see the most flies.
Another way is to put a handful of cloves in a cotton bag and tie it up. Hang the bag near doors, windows, places where flies can get in. Cloves can also be crushed into an apple, which helps to spread the clove essence that flies don’t like more strongly.
